Ras Al Khaimah Expands US Partnerships to Explore New Investment and Real Estate Opportunities

Four-state business mission strengthens economic ties and opens new avenues for cooperation in property, tourism, infrastructure and technology

Ras Al Khaimah, UAE: Ras Al Khaimah is looking to strengthen its international investment network following a four-state business mission to the United States that established new partnerships and explored opportunities across several key industries, including real estate, tourism, hospitality and infrastructure.

The delegation visited Florida, Michigan, Nevada and Utah, engaging with government representatives, business associations, universities, investors and economic development organisations. The discussions aimed to build long-term commercial relationships and identify opportunities that could support the emirate’s economic growth and diversification.

An important outcome was the signing of three Letters of Intent by the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce in Florida, Ann Arbor SPARK in Michigan and World Trade Center Utah. These agreements are intended to encourage business cooperation, facilitate investment opportunities and strengthen commercial connections between companies in the UAE and the United States.

The mission was led by Dr Carel Richter, Advisor for International Relations at the Office of the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. The delegation included representatives from several government and business entities, including RAK Properties, Marjan, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), Innovation City and the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge.

US Mission Targets Investment Across Multiple Sectors

Throughout the four-state visit, the delegation explored potential areas of cooperation spanning advanced manufacturing, technology, education, agriculture, healthcare, hospitality, tourism and property development.

The discussions were intended to create a foundation for future commercial partnerships, knowledge exchange and investment. For Ras Al Khaimah, stronger international business relationships could help broaden its investor base and support the development of new economic activities.

The inclusion of real estate and destination development among the mission's focus areas is particularly relevant to the emirate's property sector, where tourism infrastructure, hospitality projects and business expansion can contribute to future development opportunities.

Florida Meetings Strengthen Business and Academic Connections

In Florida, the delegation conducted more than 20 meetings, including discussions with Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and former Miami Mayor Francis Suarez.

The engagements built on existing cooperation between Ras Al Khaimah and the City of Miami, following an agreement signed in 2025 to develop collaboration in areas of shared interest.

Meetings with the University of Miami, Florida International University and members of Miami's technology sector also explored potential partnerships in education, innovation, investment and business development.

These discussions established additional connections that could support future cooperation between institutions and companies in the two markets.

Michigan Discussions Explore Manufacturing and Property Opportunities

Michigan hosted 34 engagements across Lansing, Ann Arbor and the Metro Detroit area. The meetings covered industries including engineering, robotics, advanced manufacturing, agricultural technology, healthcare technology, education and real estate.

The delegation met with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the University of Michigan, Michigan State University and other organisations to discuss opportunities involving research, startup development, investment and access to international markets.

Discussions with 12 companies also identified potential opportunities for engagement with RAKEZ, which provides a platform for businesses seeking to establish or expand operations in Ras Al Khaimah.

The engagements could help strengthen commercial links between Michigan-based businesses and the emirate's industrial and business ecosystem as follow-up discussions progress.

Nevada Meetings Focus on Tourism and Destination Development

In Nevada, the delegation explored opportunities related to hospitality, tourism, technology and economic development.

Meetings with the Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development and the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance examined potential areas of cooperation, including sustainable mining and closed-loop lithium systems.

A business forum also generated prospective investor connections across technology, cybersecurity, financial technology, digital payments and healthcare.

The delegation held discussions with Wynn Resorts ahead of the planned September 2027 opening of Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah. The engagement comes as the emirate continues to develop its hospitality and tourism offering.

Additional meetings with Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley and destination-sector representatives examined potential cooperation in tourism, convention infrastructure and a possible Sister City relationship.

For Ras Al Khaimah, international engagement in destination development could help create further connections with organisations experienced in hospitality, visitor attractions and large-scale tourism infrastructure.

Utah Partnerships Create Further Trade and Investment Channels

The Utah leg of the mission expanded the emirate's network of business and economic development contacts.

A Letter of Intent between the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and World Trade Center Utah established a framework for encouraging trade, investment and business partnerships.

The delegation also visited organisations and destinations associated with innovation, tourism and hospitality, including The Point, Snowbird Resort, Olympic Park and Deer Valley.

These engagements provided opportunities to examine different approaches to innovation, public-private partnerships and destination development while identifying areas for potential knowledge exchange.

Follow-Up to Determine Long-Term Economic Impact

The mission forms part of Ras Al Khaimah's broader effort to strengthen international relationships, attract investment and create opportunities for local businesses.

However, the partnerships and discussions announced during the visit represent potential opportunities rather than confirmed real estate investments or newly approved development projects.

The next stage will involve follow-up with prospective investors, companies and institutional partners to assess the opportunities identified and determine which could progress into concrete commercial agreements or projects.

For the property sector, the participation of RAK Properties and Marjan makes the mission particularly relevant. Continued cooperation in tourism, hospitality, infrastructure and business development could support future investment interest in Ras Al Khaimah, although any direct impact on property demand will depend on the projects and investments that ultimately materialise.

As the emirate develops its international business relationships, the outcomes of these discussions will be important in determining how effectively new partnerships translate into investment, economic activity and long-term development opportunities.
