Ajman and Senegal Explore New Trade and Real Estate Investment Opportunities

Ajman Chamber holds talks with Senegalese officials to strengthen business ties and explore cooperation across property, industry and other economic sectors

Ajman is looking to strengthen its economic links with Senegal as officials from both sides explore opportunities for investment, trade and business partnerships.

The discussions took place on October 23, 2026, when Ajman Chamber welcomed a Senegalese delegation to examine ways to expand cooperation between the two business communities. Real estate, industry, trade and services were among the sectors highlighted during the meeting.

The Ajman Chamber delegation included board member Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Salmeen Al Aryani, Director-General Salem Al Suwaidi, and Ali Rashid Al Ketbi, Executive Director of the Studies and Investment Development Sector.

The visiting delegation was led by Dr Alioune Dione, Senegal’s Minister of Microfinance and Social and Solidarity Economy. Arona Fall, President of the Gulf-African Investment Chamber, also attended alongside other officials and business representatives.

Ajman highlights opportunities for investors

During the meeting, Ajman Chamber outlined investment opportunities across several sectors, including real estate, manufacturing, trade and services. Officials also highlighted initiatives aimed at improving the emirate’s business environment and attracting investment.

The discussions reflect efforts to build stronger commercial relationships between Ajman and African markets, while creating opportunities for companies to explore potential partnerships.

However, the meeting did not announce a specific property investment deal or confirm any new real estate project involving Senegalese investors.

Agriculture, construction and food industries among key areas

Both sides identified several areas where closer economic cooperation could be explored, including agriculture, food security, livestock, building materials, food processing and packaging.

Building materials were among the sectors discussed, creating a potential link with the wider construction and development industry. The talks also considered opportunities to organise joint business forums to connect investors and introduce companies to potential partners in both markets.

Such initiatives could help businesses gain a better understanding of investment opportunities and establish commercial relationships across the UAE and Senegal.

Support for small businesses and future partnerships

Supporting small and medium-sized enterprises was another focus of the discussions. Representatives explored the possibility of exchanging knowledge and expertise to help businesses develop their capabilities and identify new commercial opportunities.

Ajman Chamber also invited the Senegalese delegation to participate in the Ajman International Education and Training Exhibition and the Ajman Franchise Exhibition, providing further opportunities for engagement between businesses.

Salem Al Suwaidi reaffirmed the chamber’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Senegal and other African countries, including through increased trade, investment and business cooperation.

Dr Dione also presented Senegal’s economic strengths and investment opportunities, highlighting areas where the country’s business community could potentially collaborate with companies in Ajman.

What the discussions mean for Ajman's investment outlook

The meeting forms part of broader efforts to strengthen Ajman’s international business relationships and promote the emirate as a destination for investment.

For the property and construction sectors, the inclusion of real estate and building materials in the discussions highlights areas of potential commercial interest. Any future impact, however, will depend on whether the talks lead to concrete partnerships, investment commitments or new projects.

For now, the meeting represents an opportunity to deepen UAE–Senegal business ties rather than a confirmed announcement of new property investment.
