UAE and Uzbekistan Strengthen Investment Ties Across Real Estate, Technology and Infrastructure
Abu Dhabi discussions bring together government leaders and major UAE companies to explore cross-border investment opportunities and advance potential joint development projects
The UAE and Uzbekistan are looking to expand their economic partnership, with discussions in Abu Dhabi highlighting opportunities for businesses and investors from both countries across several important industries, including property development, energy, technology and transport.
The latest discussions took place on October 7, 2026, when Uzbekistan's Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, attended the Investopia Bridge 2026 Forum and a dedicated business roundtable titled "UAE–Uzbekistan: Connecting Capital with Opportunity".
The meetings provided a platform for government representatives, corporate executives and financial institutions to examine investment opportunities and identify areas where closer cooperation could lead to new business ventures.
Real Estate and Infrastructure Among Key Investment Priorities
Property development featured among the sectors identified for stronger bilateral cooperation. Other areas discussed included renewable energy, telecommunications, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, banking, chemicals, agriculture, food production, tourism and logistics.
The inclusion of real estate development highlights the potential for UAE-based companies to explore opportunities in Uzbekistan's property and urban development markets.
Infrastructure was another important part of the discussions, particularly projects involving transportation networks, logistics facilities and technology-based development.
Participants also examined ways to improve commercial connections between the two countries and establish more efficient routes for expanding bilateral trade.
Major UAE Companies Participate in Investment Discussions
Several prominent UAE businesses and financial institutions took part in the forum and roundtable, bringing commercial experience and investment expertise to the discussions.
The participating organisations included Ghitha Holding, e&, Rotana Hotel Management Corporation, Mashreq Bank, Masdar, AMEA Power, Modon and Etihad Development Company.
Uzbekistan presented a selection of investment opportunities to these companies, covering potential participation in privatisation programmes, infrastructure development and technology-focused projects.
The discussions were intended to connect prospective projects with interested investors and identify opportunities for cooperation between public institutions and private businesses.
For UAE companies, the proposed areas of collaboration could provide opportunities to explore business expansion beyond domestic markets, particularly in sectors where infrastructure investment and development expertise are important.
Uzbekistan Holds Meetings With Senior UAE Officials
During his visit, Laziz Kudratov also met several senior members of the UAE government to discuss ways of strengthening economic and investment relations.
His meetings included discussions with Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism; Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, Minister of Investment; and Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade.
The Uzbek minister also held separate discussions with executives from leading UAE companies.
These engagements formed part of wider efforts to improve communication between government authorities and businesses while identifying practical opportunities for cooperation.
Both Countries Seek Stronger Investment Coordination
Beyond identifying potential projects, the discussions also addressed how the two countries could improve the mechanisms used to manage their economic partnership.
An agreement was reached to enhance coordination between the Intergovernmental Commission and the UAE–Uzbekistan Business Council. The objective is to give greater attention to developing practical initiatives and moving investment discussions towards concrete opportunities.
This approach is expected to strengthen cooperation between government departments, investment funds and private-sector organisations.
New Opportunities for UAE Businesses in Uzbekistan
The outcome of the October meetings establishes a broader framework for continued engagement between UAE and Uzbek institutions.
Follow-up actions were outlined to advance promising projects involving businesses, government organisations and investment funds from both countries.
Although individual project commitments and investment values were not disclosed in the announcement, the discussions indicate growing interest in expanding commercial relations across multiple sectors.
For the UAE, stronger engagement with Uzbekistan could create additional opportunities in property development, energy, financial services, technology and infrastructure. Further progress will depend on how the proposed areas of cooperation translate into individual projects and investment agreements.
