RAK Chamber Joins Forces with Ann Arbor SPARK to Strengthen UAE-US Trade Links

New partnership seeks to connect businesses, attract investment and create opportunities for innovation between Ras Al Khaimah and Michigan

Ras Al Khaimah, UAE — October 2, 2026

The Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry has entered into a Letter of Intent with Ann Arbor SPARK, an economic development organisation based in Michigan, United States, to strengthen business and investment connections between the two regions.

The agreement focuses on developing cooperation in areas including trade, investment, innovation and entrepreneurship, creating a framework for greater interaction between companies and business communities in Ras Al Khaimah and Michigan.

The Letter of Intent was signed by Dr. Rashid Khalfan Al Nuaimi, Director-General of Ras Al Khaimah Chamber, and Phil Santer, Chief Operating Officer of Ann Arbor SPARK. Dr. Carel Richter, Advisor for International Relations at the Office of the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, attended the signing.

Building stronger links between businesses

Under the cooperation, the two organisations intend to facilitate connections between businesses and share relevant market information, knowledge and expertise.

The partnership is also expected to provide a platform for exploring joint initiatives that could support entrepreneurs and companies operating across the two markets.

For businesses in Ras Al Khaimah, international partnerships such as this can provide additional channels for accessing overseas markets, exchanging expertise and developing commercial relationships.

Focus on investment and innovation

The agreement also places emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship, alongside traditional trade and investment cooperation.

By bringing together economic development organisations from Ras Al Khaimah and Michigan, the initiative seeks to encourage greater engagement between companies, entrepreneurs and business stakeholders in both regions.

The partnership forms part of Ras Al Khaimah Chamber's broader efforts to expand its international network and create new opportunities for the emirate's business community.

As cooperation develops, the two organisations can explore potential areas for collaboration and identify opportunities that support companies seeking to establish or expand connections between the UAE and the United States.
