Abu Dhabi to Welcome Missoni-Branded Waterfront Homes on Al Reem Island

A new residential tower by Emirates Developments will bring Italian-inspired design to Abu Dhabi, with 250 homes planned for completion in 2030.

Abu Dhabi’s residential property market is set to gain a new luxury development through a collaboration between UAE developer Emirates Developments and Italian fashion company Missoni. Named Waterfront by Missoni, the project is planned for Shams Abu Dhabi on Al Reem Island and will combine residential living with design elements inspired by the fashion brand.

The proposed tower will contain 250 freehold properties, marking Missoni’s first branded housing development in the capital. The partnership brings the company’s recognisable visual style into the residential sector, extending its presence beyond fashion and home décor.

Architecture Reflecting Italian Design

The building will feature a distinctive exterior shaped around Missoni’s well-known zigzag motif. According to the project announcement, the pattern will appear in selected architectural details, including the podium’s paving and parts of the tower’s exterior.

An oval-shaped structure, horizontal façade elements and landscaped balconies will form part of the building’s overall design. The concept is intended to carry the brand’s visual identity from the outside of the tower into its residential and shared spaces.

Recreation, Wellness and Workspaces Under One Roof

Residents will have access to facilities intended to support fitness, relaxation and social activities. Plans for the first-floor amenity area include a swimming pool, padel court, gym featuring Technogym equipment, spa, residents’ clubhouse, children’s room, outdoor landscaped terraces and a barbecue space.

The development’s ground floor will provide additional indoor facilities, including a cinema, a virtual reality room and a business lounge. The interiors of these shared areas will follow Missoni’s design direction.

The range of planned facilities is intended to provide residents with leisure and everyday lifestyle options within the building.

A Waterfront Address Close to Abu Dhabi’s Urban Centre

The project will occupy a site in Shams Abu Dhabi, part of Al Reem Island’s established residential community. Its position between the sea and a canal is expected to give the tower a waterfront setting, with direct beach access planned at the building’s base.

Nearby amenities include Reem Mall, Shams Boutik, Repton School Abu Dhabi, Reem Hospital and Burjeel Hospital. Emirates Developments estimates that the location is around 10 minutes from Abu Dhabi city centre.

The development will offer freehold ownership across its 250 residences, making the homes available to international purchasers as well as other eligible buyers.

Project Targeted for Completion in 2030

Tareq Siam, managing director of Emirates Developments, described the partnership as an important development for the company and Abu Dhabi. He said the collaboration incorporates Missoni’s creative direction throughout the communal areas and individual homes.

Waterfront by Missoni will join the developer’s wider collection of branded residential projects in the UAE. Other developments in its portfolio include Jumeirah Residences on Al Maryah Island, Stellar by Elie Saab on Yas Island and residential projects associated with Hilton.

The developer has scheduled completion for the second quarter of 2030.

The announcement adds another fashion-linked residential project to Abu Dhabi’s property pipeline. For buyers considering branded homes, factors such as the final selling prices, ownership terms, construction progress and the wider property market will remain important when assessing a purchase. The development’s eventual investment performance has not yet been established.
