Ras Al Khaimah Builds U.S. Partnerships to Explore Property and Investment Opportunities
Three cooperation agreements signed during a four-state American visit aim to strengthen business connections and open new avenues for investment, infrastructure and tourism development in Ras Al Khaimah.
Ras Al Khaimah is expanding its international business network following a recent trade mission to the United States that brought the emirate’s representatives together with American companies, universities and economic development organisations.
The visit covered Florida, Michigan, Nevada and Utah, with discussions focused on potential cooperation in several industries, including property development, advanced manufacturing, technology, hospitality, education and infrastructure. Three Letters of Intent were signed as part of efforts to establish stronger commercial links between the UAE emirate and U.S. business communities.
The agreements connect Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Michigan-based Ann Arbor SPARK and World Trade Center Utah. They are intended to create opportunities for business cooperation, entrepreneurial activity, trade and investment.
Property and Infrastructure Among Key Areas of Interest
Real estate and infrastructure were among the sectors discussed during the delegation’s meetings, alongside tourism, technology and industrial development. Representatives from RAK Properties and Marjan participated in the mission, bringing the emirate’s property and development sector into the broader international engagement.
The discussions explored possible avenues for collaboration with American businesses and institutions. Any resulting projects or investments will depend on further discussions, commercial assessments and the development of specific agreements.
Dr Carel Richter, Advisor for International Relations at the Office of the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, led the delegation. The visit was intended to build on existing relationships while identifying new partners who could contribute to the emirate’s long-term economic development.
Florida and Michigan Meetings Focus on Business Growth
In Florida, the delegation met representatives from local government, educational institutions and the business community. Discussions involving Miami-Dade County, the University of Miami and Florida International University covered potential cooperation in investment, education, innovation and commercial development.
The Florida engagements also built on previous connections between Ras Al Khaimah and Miami.
In Michigan, meetings in Lansing, Ann Arbor and the Metro Detroit area examined opportunities involving engineering, robotics, advanced manufacturing, agricultural technology, healthcare innovation and real estate. Discussions with economic development bodies and universities also considered research partnerships, startup support and ways for companies to access international markets.
Potential links with businesses operating through Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone were another area of interest, particularly for companies exploring expansion and cross-border commercial opportunities.
Nevada Discussions Include Tourism and Technology
The Nevada leg of the visit covered investment opportunities in technology, cybersecurity, financial technology, digital payments and healthcare. Meetings with state and regional economic development organisations also explored sustainable mining and lithium recovery systems.
Tourism and hospitality formed another important part of the programme. The delegation engaged with Wynn Resorts ahead of the planned September 2027 opening of Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah.
Additional discussions with Las Vegas officials and destination representatives examined tourism cooperation, convention facilities and the possibility of establishing a Sister City relationship. These exchanges could help identify areas for future knowledge-sharing and destination development.
Utah Agreements Expand International Business Connections
In Utah, the Chamber’s agreement with World Trade Center Utah added another platform for developing commercial relationships between the two regions.
Meetings and site visits involving locations such as The Point, Snowbird Resort, Olympic Park and Deer Valley provided opportunities to discuss destination planning, innovation and public-private partnerships. The discussions also examined approaches that could inform future cooperation and development initiatives in Ras Al Khaimah.
The agreement is expected to support further engagement between businesses and economic development organisations, although individual investment projects have not been confirmed.
International Cooperation Supports Ras Al Khaimah’s Growth Strategy
The delegation included representatives from the Office of the Ruler, Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, RAKEZ, RAK Properties, Marjan, Innovation City, the Department of Knowledge and the Ras Al Khaimah Government Media Office.
The mission forms part of the emirate’s broader efforts to diversify its economy, strengthen international relationships and attract new commercial opportunities. Its follow-up work will focus on evaluating leads identified during the visit and developing potential partnerships into practical initiatives.
For Ras Al Khaimah’s property sector, stronger international business connections could create additional opportunities across residential and commercial real estate, tourism-related developments and supporting infrastructure. However, the three Letters of Intent establish a basis for cooperation rather than confirming new property investments or construction projects.
Further progress will depend on discussions between the participating organisations and the eventual terms of any agreements reached.
