RAKEZ Secures Additional $50 Million Industrial Investment from Chinese-Linked AJT Venture

New manufacturing facilities, expanded warehousing and additional production lines are planned as AJT strengthens its presence in Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah is set to receive another significant industrial investment following an agreement between Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) and AJT Holding International Limited to inject a further $50 million into manufacturing operations in the emirate.

The proposed investment was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in Fuzhou, China, during a visit by a Ras Al Khaimah delegation. The agreement was signed in the presence of Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, a member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.

The agreement represents an expansion of AJT's existing industrial presence in RAKEZ, with the company planning to increase its manufacturing capabilities and introduce additional products for customers in regional and international markets.

The project will be implemented through AJT Printing and Packaging FZ-LLC, a joint venture established by China's Jihong and BMJ Industries. The partnership combines Jihong's experience in packaging manufacturing with BMJ's business connections across the Middle East and Africa.

As part of the next development phase, AJT intends to establish additional production lines for water-based and ultraviolet (UV) inks, alongside environmentally friendly paper bags and other packaging products. The expansion will also cover warehousing and logistics facilities, with additional industrial space planned to support the company's longer-term requirements.

AJT already operates an integrated manufacturing facility in RAKEZ, specialising in printing, packaging and corrugated carton production. Its products serve several industries, including food and beverages, retail, consumer goods and logistics.

The planned investment is expected to broaden the company's existing production portfolio and strengthen its ability to serve businesses across different markets. It also supports AJT's ambition to use Ras Al Khaimah as an important manufacturing and distribution base for the packaging industry.

RAKEZ Group CEO Ramy Jallad said the additional investment demonstrates the confidence international manufacturers have in Ras Al Khaimah's industrial environment. He also highlighted the importance of the partnership in developing commercial relations between the UAE and China.

The agreement adds to Ras Al Khaimah's efforts to attract international businesses and encourage existing manufacturers to increase their operations within the emirate.

With further investment planned in production facilities, storage capacity and industrial infrastructure, the AJT expansion represents another development in Ras Al Khaimah's efforts to strengthen its position as a destination for manufacturing and international trade.
