Dubai Market Defies Regional Declines with Dh4.4 Billion Weekly Gain

The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) recorded gains during the latest five-session trading week, outperforming several other major Arab markets as the index advanced 0.39%.

Dubai’s market capitalisation increased by around Dh4.4 billion during the week, reaching Dh994.4 billion compared with Dh990.02 billion at the previous Friday’s close. The rise was supported by gains across several actively traded stocks.

Aman led the DFM’s weekly gainers, with its shares surging 21.5%. Al Ramz also posted a strong performance, rising 17.45%, followed by International Financial Advisors at 8.3%. Agility Warehousing advanced 7.82%, while Drake & Scull climbed 6.45% and National International Holding gained 5.14%.

Emaar Properties was the most actively traded stock in Dubai by value, generating approximately Dh885.4 million in liquidity over the five sessions. Emirates NBD followed with Dh302.8 million, while Salik recorded trading worth about Dh148.5 million.

Foreign investors, including both Arab and non-Arab investors, were net buyers during the week. Their purchases reached approximately Dh1.3 billion, compared with sales of around Dh1.26 billion, resulting in net buying of about Dh43.5 million.

Abu Dhabi market moves lower

The Abu Dhabi market followed a different direction, with the FTSE Abu Dhabi General Index (FADGI) declining 0.66% over the five-session period to close at 10,200.73 points.

ADNOC Gas recorded the highest trading value in Abu Dhabi, with approximately Dh733.97 million in liquidity. Aldar Properties ranked second with Dh430.3 million, followed by Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank at around Dh423 million.

Among the notable gainers in Abu Dhabi, Dar Al Takaful rose 10.7%, while Pure Health Holdings advanced 7.46%. Al Seer Equipment gained 7.03%, Al Buhaira National Insurance increased 5.4%, and Gulf Cement rose 5.1%.

The contrasting performances of Dubai and Abu Dhabi highlighted differing movements across the UAE’s two major equity markets during the week, with Dubai ending the period higher while Abu Dhabi recorded a decline.
